Updates

This is where I'll announce the most recent additions to my web site. If you've visited before and want to know what's changed, take a look here first.

I'm hoping to create a better background for the pages (apologies for the FrontPage look), and some pictures of me...but then again if you can see what I look like you'll never give me a job!  The expansion of the "Other Freelancers" page depends on me convincing some of my friends and associates that they would like to join me here.

In July 2006 I landed myself a full-time job as Technical Director at Sky Television in West London.  I knocked on the door looking for Freelance work and got an interview instead!  Sky is a great place to be at the moment, with (believe it or not) NINE Studios in use.  I've been fortunate enough to be involved with the recently refurbished Studio Six, which can work in either High or Standard Definition, and delivers high profile shows such as "Champions League" and "Football First" to the Sky Sports Channels.  Done some shifts on Sky News and Sky Sports News, too.  More recently I have become involved with the technical delivery of the Interactive (Enhanced) Sky Sports channels.

Before that I had an interesting engagement setting up a Communications "Hub" for BBC TV News at Television Centre in London.  This was for the English Local Elections on Thursday 4th May. I was employed as a Technical Co-ordinator, responsible for lining up about 25 OBs for the programme and setting up technical facilities for the Production team.

I also did some shifts operating the SNG (uPod) Truck for ITV Central South.

Back in February 2006 I delivered a couple of lectures to Final Year students on the Electronic Engineering course at Oxford Brookes University.  They have an option to study Studio Design, and I was tasked to give an insight into Sound Technology and Production Safety.
